Senior Associate Professor

Dr. Codreanu is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow and his current research focus is on information freshness optimization, sparse signal processing, and machine learning for wireless networking.

Presentation

Marian Codreanu received the M.Sc. degree from the University Politehnica of Bucharest, Romania, in 1998, and the Ph.D. degree from University of Oulu, Finland, in 2007. His thesis was awarded as the best doctoral thesis within the area of all technical sciences in Finland in 2007.

In 2008 he visited Prof. Anthony Ephremides’ group at the University of Maryland, College Park, USA. Dr. Codreanu received his Docent in 2013 from the Centre for Wireless Communications of University of Oulu. In 2013, the Academy of Finland awarded him an Academy Research Fellow position. In 2019, Dr. Codreanu received a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship and joined the Linköping University.

Dr. Codreanu published over 100 journal and conference papers in the areas of wireless communications and networking, statistical signal processing, mathematical optimization, and information theory. His current research focus is on information freshness optimization, sparse signal processing, and machine learning for wireless networking.

Dr. Codreanu is a co-founder and served as Co-Chair and TPC Co-Chair of the Nordic Workshop on System and Network Optimization for Wireless (SNOW). During 2011 – 2018, he served as a Vice Chair of the IEEE Finland Section Communications and Information Theory Joint Societies Chapter.
