Sabina Borg

Associate Professor

PhD and specialist physiotherapist in cardiovascular diseases. I conduct research and teach in physiotherapy with a special focus on cardiac rehabilitation and am also clinically active in this field.

Research and teaching in physiotherapy with special interest in physical activity and physical exercise in cardiovascular diseases

My PhD focused on attendance and adherence at exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation. Even though exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation has well-established positive effects, the treatment is underutilized.

My research is about physical activity and exercise in cardiovascular diseases. I work with behavioural medicine interventions, digital interventions, and study effects of physical activity and exercise in relation to different rehabilitation outcomes.

I teach at bachelor and advanced levels primarily in the areas of cardiac rehabilitation, cardiovascular diseases, physical exercise and behavioral medicine.
