Hearing impairment affects work environments, increasing sick leave risk. This project develops guidelines for digital workplaces, enhancing inclusion and fostering solutions for a more accessible future.

Hearing impairment is a widespread condition in Sweden, impacting work environments and increasing risks of absenteeism and early retirement. The rise of digital communication introduces new challenges but also presents opportunities to enhance inclusivity through appropriate strategies and technological tools.

Purpose: Creating Inclusive Workspaces

This research aims to develop guidelines for digital communication tailored to address the challenges faced by individuals with hearing impairments. By identifying barriers and proposing innovative solutions, the project seeks to establish a more supportive and equitable work environment for all employees.

Anticipated Outcomes and Benefits

The project will deliver actionable guidelines and strategies to improve the digital workplace. Key outcomes include promoting accessible technology, such as captioning services and adaptive communication tools, and raising awareness among employers and colleagues about the unique challenges faced by employees with hearing impairments. These efforts aim to reduce stress, enhance productivity, and create workplaces where everyone can thrive.
