Biogas Partnership: co-creating a pathway to boost biogas solutions in the Baltic Sea Region
The project is focusing on how to build collaboration and network between partner organisations in Sweden, Poland and Ukraine, in the direction of biogas solutions boosting and development of biogas sector in the Baltic Sea Region.

It started with diesel smog and meat processing waste, problems that could be solved with biogas. Today, Linköping is a world leader in biogas, and LiU is home to a national knowledge centre.

BSRC is a national competence center for biogas research administered by the LiU. It's base for the development of innovative and resource-efficient biogas solutions often with positive local and regional effects on the environment and the economy.

Profitable collaboration - for farmers and the environment
More Biogas started as a simple study group, and has become a profitable biogas facility that supplies vehicle fuel throughout the Kalmar region, and KRAV-labelled fertiliser to farmers. The latter are also joint-owners in the company.

Her cookbook combines biogas and algae
Alyssa Blumenthal came to LiU in September 2015 on a Fulbright scholarship. Now she is full of enthusiasm about the Biogas Research Center (BRC), LiU, Sweden and energy-related issues. However she is leaving academia for a job in her hometown.
Pre-treatments to increase hydrolysis
The efficiency of biological, chemical and physical pre-treatments on methane production is being evaluated through a meta-analysis in order to evaluate what pre-treatments alone or combine result in a higher methane yield.
