The position

Next generation sequencing and multi-omics technologies have been important in the development of molecular diagnostics and biomarkers, essential to categorize patients and understand treatment strategies. New tools and biological targets still need to be explored to deepen our understanding of complex human diseases. Among the many important systems, an important category are the neuropeptides, the largest class of messenger molecules in the human brain. Implicated in many disease conditions and gaining importance as potential drug targets, these systems still need in-depth analysis. We seek an enthusiastic candidate with extensive research experience in molecular biology and/or neuroscience.

The ideal candidate will drive our research aimed at identifying molecular biomarkers and screening for the several neuropeptides to estimate disease risks, enabling early diagnosis and stratifying patients. The candidate will be a part of various basic science and clinical research collaborations, thus, handling of human material and data is crucial to the role. To qualify for employment as principal research engineer, you must have been awarded a doctoral degree or have a foreign degree that is deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree.

  • Neuropeptide screening and data analysis
  • Transcriptomics and proteomics
  • Bulk and/or spatial RNA sequencing, RNA integrity analysis
  • In situ hybridization/ RNAScope
  • Immunohistochemistry, ELISA, Immunoprecipitation
  • Handling of human brain tissue samples and blood samples

It is advantageous if you have:
