We are now looking to appoint a postdoc in construction supply chain management, placed at the Department of Science and Technology, Campus Norrköping.

Work assignments 

As postdoc, your main task is to carry out research. About 80% of your working time will be devoted to research linked to several projects within the construction logistics unit at the division of Communication and Transport Systems (KTS). The postdoc will focus on projects related to circularity of construction materials (including both soil and rock materials, demolition materials as well as renovation materials). Procurement processes are central to create a demand of circular materials, especially how this relate to digitalization, big data management and new business models to ensure a scalable circular economy. The research will cover question such as supply management, governance models and contract management. The main task is to write reports and research articles to report results and knowledge gained, as well as leading studies to develop new research findings within the projects and initiate new applications for further research. In addition, you are expected to be active in PhD and master thesis supervision. You are also expected to collaborate closely to both private and public organisations.

A certain amount of teaching may be part of your duties, typically 20 % of working time. Regarding teaching, there is the opportunity to contribute to courses within several of our programs, including our bachelor’s degree programs in in Construction engineering and Logistics, as well as our master's program in Communication, Transport and Society, and Digital construction.

Qualifications

To be qualified to take employment as postdoc, you must have been awarded a doctoral degree or have a foreign degree that is deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree. This degree must have been awarded at the latest by the point at which LiU makes its decision to employ you. It is considered advantageous if your doctoral degree is no older than three years at application deadline for this job. If there are special reasons for having an older doctoral degree – such as taking statutory leave – then these may be taken into consideration.

You can have both qualitative and quantitative methodological orientation for this employment. Subject-wise, you can have a background in procurement, supply chain management, construction management, construction engineering, construction logistics, production logistics, city logistics, urban planning, or another subject area relevant for the position.

Preferably you have experience in procurement, logistics, digitalization or managing the built environment. We also believe that you have a desire for a continued academic career. Experience in performing both quantitative and qualitative analyses, publishing scientific articles, and writing applications is meriting. English in speech and writing at an academic level is a requirement and if you also master Swedish it is meriting.

The workplace

You will belong to the department of Science and Technology (ITN) at campus Norrköping which is known for its activities in logistics, visualization and organic electronics. We combine academic height with fruitful collaboration with the surrounding society. The position belongs to the division of Communication and Transport Systems (KTS), which is one of the largest environments for research and education in the transport area in the Nordic countries. The operations are conducted within the units Traffic Systems, Quantitative Logistics, Rail and Public Transport, Mobile Telecommunications, Construction Logistics and Construction Technology.

The current position will be linked to the construction logistics unit, which includes two research areas: Construction supply chain management and logistics  and Urban development and logistics.

The employment

This employment is a temporary contract of two years with the possibility of extension up to a total maximum of three years. The employment is full-time. Starting by agreement.

This position may come to be a security classified position. If so, security screening including a records check will be carried out before any decision on employment is made.
