PhD student in Energy-Efficient Integrated Circuits and Architectures for 6G Communication System Frontends
Back to available jobsWe are now looking for a PhD student in Integrated Circuits and Systems, at the Department of Electrical Engineering (ISY).
Your work assignments
The objectives for this position are to develop, design, and conduct research on integrated circuits taking on the challenges of next generation communication systems. The project aims to investigate the feasibility and advantages of new design principles for transceiver frontend design, including data converter solutions. Expected outcome is a disruptive and novel approach to co-optimized radio transceiver design with measured and verified state-of-the-art performance, published in premier international journals and conferences within the field.
The project is part of a collaboration between Linköping University, Lund University, and Universidad de Sevilla and will therefore take place in a collaborative international environment.
As a PhD student, you devote most of your time to doctoral studies and the research projects of which you are part. Your work may also include teaching or other departmental duties, up to a maximum of 20 percent of full-time.
Your qualifications
You have graduated at Master’s level in Electronics Engineering or completed courses with a minimum of 240 credits, at least 60 of which must be in advanced courses within the topic mentioned above. Alternatively, you have gained essentially corresponding knowledge in another way.
The applicant is expected to meet the following requirements:
- Deep technical documented proficiency in analog, RF, and mixed-signal IC design using advanced CMOS technologies.
- Well-versed in the end-to-end design flow, including circuit design, simulation, layout, PCB design, and measurement of integrated circuits using advanced CAD tools.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in both written and spoken English is required. Swedish language skills are considered an advantage.
- Self-motivated with a genuine interest in research and science.
- Prior experience with advanced signal processing concepts as well as digital filters is advantageous.
Your workplace
You will be working at the Division of Electronics and Computer Engineering (ELDA), which conducts teaching and research in a broad range of areas, from processor architectures and logic design to analog integrated circuits. The group in integrated circuits and systems has more than 40 years of experience in advanced circuit design and collaborates closely with major semiconductor companies and academic research organizations worldwide.
