As Postdoctoral researcher, your responsibilities will be conducting cutting edge research through:
- Conducting independent research
- Leading a clinical trial
- Design, acquisition, and analysis of data from psychophysical experiments on touch and pain
- Design, acquisition, and analysis of data from cognitive measures
- Design, acquisition and analysis of data from single-unit afferent recordings using microneurography
- Publication and dissemination of findings
Qualifications
To be qualified to take employment as postdoc, you must have been awarded a doctoral degree or have a foreign degree that is deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree. This degree must have been awarded at the latest by the point at which LiU makes its decision to employ you.
It is considered advantageous if your doctoral degree is no older than three years at application deadline for this job. If there are special reasons for having an older doctoral degree – such as taking statutory leave – then these may be taken into consideration.
We are looking for someone with a Ph.D. in neuropharmacology, or a related discipline, strong quantitative skills, a reasonable track record, and an enthusiastic approach to science. The applicant is expected to:
- Have demonstrable skills in the communication of scientific findings, as evidenced by first-authored publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
- Possess experience in clinical studies, experience in somatosensation measurements, designing and conducting experiments involving neuropsychological tasks and psychophysical measures.
- Have a specific interest in human touch and pain techniques, including microneurography, and mentorship experience
- Be fluent in both written and spoken English
Having experience as a clinical trial lead or clinical research coordinator of human pain studies is of particular merit.
The workplace
You will work at the Center for Social and Affective Neuroscience (CSAN), in the research groups led by Håkan Olausson. The groups conduct translational research in somatosensory neuroscience.
The Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences (BKV), is one of the university’s largest departments, primarily operating within the Faculty of Medicine. Our goal is to conduct education and research in medicine and biomedicine of high international quality. The employment
The position is full-time and a fixed-term employment for one year
