Back to available jobsWork assignments
Occupational therapy encompasses knowledge about human engagement in everyday activities and participation in one's living environment in relation to health and development. The target group for occupational therapy includes individuals with disabilities or those who, for other reasons, experience limitations in their daily activities. The interaction between the individual and the environment is central, and research focuses on the consequences of disabilities and environmental barriers or facilitators for individuals’ activity and participation. Furthermore, studies explore how occupational therapy interventions can be designed to promote activity, participation, and health.
At the unit of Occupational Therapy, research is currently conducted with a focus on individuals’ activity and participation in society across the lifespan, from children to older adults. The research includes areas such as digital occupational therapy interventions, assessments in working life, participation among older adults, and educational research. The unit is engaged in strategic research areas such as eHealth and interprofessional education, and maintains strong connections to clinical practice and societal stakeholders. Research is carried out in close collaboration with regional and municipal partners and is characterized by cooperation, innovation, and societal relevance.
We are seeking a visiting professor with a strong scientific profile in occupational therapy.
The position aims to further strengthen our research environment and contribute to the development of the subject area. As the unit seeks to expand its international profile, applicants from outside Sweden are welcome, and international experience is considered a merit.
As a visiting professor in occupational therapy, you are active in the research community, initiating, leading, and further developing research within the subject area. You are involved in career planning and mentorship, participate in departmental activities such as seminars and workshops, actively engage in applications for external research funding, contribute to doctoral education and advanced-level teaching, and collaborate with society both nationally and internationally.

You also have international experience through employment, collaborations, or projects. Experience in interdisciplinary work and an interest in digitalization and innovation within occupational therapy or related fields are considered merits. You possess excellent English skills, both spoken and written.

You should demonstrate the ability to receive external research funding in competitive contexts. Scientific excellence is also shown through independent research resulting in scientific publications, as well as through the planning and leadership of research and doctoral education.
