Phoenix Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctoral Program Dynamics of Health and Welfare at Linköping University is interdisciplinary, with a solid basis in humanities and social sciences. It includes philosophy and ethics, social anthropology, political science and psychology.

The research is focused on issues of welfare and social change, public health, psychosocial factors and health.

The program is an EU-funded joint doctoral program between:

  • Linköping University;
  • L ' Ecoles des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (Paris),
  • Universidade de Evora and Universidade Nova de Lisboa (Portugal).

In addition to the courses, seminars and tutorials at the main university all postgraduate students spend a mobility semester at one of the other partner universities. During the first year two joint courses are organized for all students in the program, to give a deeper understanding of the broad research area. During the year two the students are offered 3-6 month internship/fieldwork.

The PhD program is aimed at both Swedish and international applicants. The working languages are English, French or Portuguese/Spanish.

Because the program will be completed in 2019 no new applicants are admitted.
