All undergraduate programmes at Linköping University, except Experimental and Industrial Biomedicine, are taught in Swedish.

Studying a complete programme thus requires written and oral fluency in that language. The extent of a study programme is from two up to six years and is measured in credits. 1,5 credits correspond to one week's full-time study and 60 credits to one academic year of full-time studies. The academic year is divided into an autumn semester and a spring semester.
