The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is at the frontline when it comes to the development of pedagogy for nursing and medical education. All programmes at the faculty, except for BSc Experimental and Industrial Biomedicine and MSc Experimental and Medical Biosciences, are taught in Swedish.

Studying a complete programme requires written and oral fluency in that language. The extent of a study programme is from two up to six years and is measured in credits. 1,5 credits correspond to one week's full-time study and 60 credits to one academic year of full-time studies. The academic year is divided into an autumn semester and a spring semester.
