It is our pleasure to congratulate you on having been admitted to our Ecology and Sustainable Development Master’s programme. We are confident that it will be important for your professional career and provide you with interesting challenges and personal development. Our ambition is to educate advanced professionals for an international market. Currently we are planning the autumn semester and are looking forward to welcoming you here in August.
The way of studying here at Linköping University (LiU) might differ from what you are used to. Besides lectures and laboratory work, we put a large emphasis on you being active in projects, writing papers, essays and reports and presenting the results of minor research tasks. Does this sound demanding? You are absolutely right – it is! We take studies very seriously and want your time with us to be as meaningful as possible. But we also guarantee that this will not prevent you from having a lot of fun and enjoying interesting experiences during your time in Linköping.
Introduction Days 24-26 August 2022
New master’s students to the Faculty of Science and Engineering will be formally welcomed at Campus Valla in Linköping 24-26 August. You will receive important information regarding your studies and meet your Master's Programme Contact Person. You will also meet senior students who will be your mentors during the start of the semester. They will assist you with practical issues and guide you through the various academic administration systems you need to be familiar with.
Wednesday 24 August – Mandatory roll call
- 12:15 - 14:30 Mandatory roll call, mentor meet up and introduction activities.
You must attend in person – on campus – to confirm your place on the programme. If failing to attend, you will lose your place.

Thursday 25 August
- 9:00 - 12:00 Welcome to LiU: on-site introduction event with speeches and a following welcome fair.

Friday 26 August
- 9:30 - 12:00 Programme Specific Information, with Tom Lindström and Matthias Laska, Master Programme Contact Persons.

Conditionally admitted students
If you are conditionally admitted you must upload your degree certificate and transcript of your last semester(s) both in original language and with an English translation to your Universityadmissions.se account by 1 November 2022.
Residing in Sweden
As soon as you have been accepted to commence studies at LiU, we recommend applicants who are citizens of non-EU/EEA countries to do the following:
1) Pay your tuition fee.
2) Apply for a resident permit from the Swedish Migration Agency.
We advise you not to book any non-refundable travel until you are sure you can reside and study in Sweden. You can find further information here.
