Zheng Chen is an Assistant Professor at the Division of Communication Systems, Department of Electrical Engineering, Linköping University, Sweden.

She received her B.Sc. degree in Optoelectronics from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), China, in 2011. Then she received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from CentraleSupélec, Université Paris-Saclay, France, in 2013 and 2016 respectively. She joined Linköping University as a postdoc researcher in January 2021, and then was appointed as Assistant Professor in October 2021.

Research interests

Her research interests include stochastic modeling and optimization in wireless networks, massive random access, and distributed intelligent systems.


  • She was the recipient of the 2020 IEEE Communications Society Young Author Best Paper Award  (one of the most prestigious paper awards given by IEEE ComSoc).
  • She was selected as an Exemplary Reviewer for several top-ranking journals, including IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE Transactions on Communications, and IEEE Communications Letters.
  • She has served as TPC member for several technical symposia in ICC and GLOBECOM between 2017-2021.


She is currently teaching two Master-level courses as course director and examiner:
