The management of acute cardiology care in Sweden is in the international frontline. Simultaneously, there are still large room for improvements in the secondary prevention care and cardiac rehabilitation, which are highly effective treatments, but with low patient attendance and goal fulfilment.
The PHYS-EX CVD group conducts epidemiological studies in collaboration with researchers in SWEDEHEART, aiming to evaluate and improve secondary prevention after a myocardial infarction, with special focus on physical activity and exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation.
In addition, PHYS-EX CVD works with method development and tests of reliability and validity of the physiotherapy variables in SWEDEHEART, including objective measures and self-reported questionnaires.
