The Doctoral Programme in Social Work

The doctoral programme in social work aims to give students in-depth knowledge in social work and allow them to develop the knowledge and skills needed to indepentently carry out research in this area, and to contribute to advancing the knowledge in this subjects by producing a scientific thesis.

The doctoral programme in social work also aims to advance the students' abilities to utilise their attained scientific skills and knowledge in continued research work or other qualified professional work, and to present and disseminate their research results nationally and internationally.

The programme takes four years and leads to degree of doctor (240 cr) and/or licentiate (120 cr).

The programme is organised in cooperation with the Research School in Social Work.
