Elisabeth Klint

PhD student

My research interest involves image and signal processing with the goal to increase the understanding of the brain and ultimately contribute to better healthcare. Two application areas are brain tumours and deep brain stimulation (DBS).

Multimodal guidance in neurosurgery

By combining magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and optical techniques, such as laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF) and Raman spectroscopy, we develop methods as support for localization during neurosurgery.

The project is a collaboration between neurosurgeons, pathologists, and engineers, among others. My role is to take part in data collection, be responsible for analysis (which includes statistics, image and signal processing) as well as coordinate expertise from multiple disciplines.
