Age in Preschool
This research project concerns how children’s age is expressed in the preschool’s pedagogical activities.
This is anchored in a view of age as a “doing”; that is, something participants achieve in social interaction (“doing age”). This perspective, inspired by symbolic interactionism and ethnomethodology, was developed in analogy with the interactionist approach of gender research with its key concept of “doing gender”.
