Research preparatory scholarship

Students who are admitted to the research preparatory course on advanced level can have the possibility to apply for a scholarship for the duration of the course. The scholarship amount corresponds to the student aid amount (grant and loan without additional loan/grant) provided by the Swedish Board of Student Finance (CSN) for full-time studies.

A scholarship can be awarded for a maximum of two courses of 20 weeks each, and for a total of up to 40 weeks.

As the processing time from the supervisor’s request to establish the scholarship to the decision is at least five weeks, it is important to be in due time.

The process is as follows:

  1. The student applies for admission to the course through the course coordinator.
  2. Simultaneously, the supervisor requests the establishment of the scholarship.
  3. The scholarship is announced for at least three weeks
  4. The student applies for the scholarship
    The application must include:
    • Admission certificate
    • CV/resumé
    • Study plan, including a reading list, signed by both the supervisor and the scholarship recipient
    • Copy of passport
  5. The head of department decides on the scholarship
