Applied Visualization

Image collage for applied vizualisation

The Unit for Applied Visualization conducts internal and external production development with the goal of combining research data and visualization technology for improved science communication and use beyond research, with a focus on the public, schools and business.

Production is based on experimentation/prototyping of both hardware and software solutions that are developed internally within the unit and within the research projects. The group largely consists of a number of developers, designers and architects who together try to create and provide interesting and educational installations and products in visualization. The unit is also responsible for continuous development of infrastructure in connection with LiU/MIT and within the consortium of Visualieringscenter C. This enables hardware and software to be continuously improved to create synergies between different areas within the consortium and promote the use of visualization in educational activities for different target and age groups.
