The Department of Management and Engineering (IEI) at the Faculty of Science and Engineering seeks applicants for a permanent position as Senior Associate Professor in Industrial Management focusing on B2B (business-to-business) marketing. You will be affiliated with the Centre for Business Model Innovation (CBMI), a research centre focused on how companies create sustained competitive advantage through novel business models.

Work assignments 

The successful candidate will contribute to CBMI and strengthen our research in B2B marketing. The position also includes teaching responsibilities, supervision, and undergraduate and postgraduate examinations within one or more of our MSc specialisations: digital business development and industrial marketing. As a Senior Associate Professor, you will teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

You are expected to conduct and supervise scientific research, provide high-quality academic teaching, closely follow the advances of your field, and participate in service to the research centre, the department, the academic community, and society.

We seek individuals ready to make a significant and influential impact through their research and to contribute to our education programmes with strong pedagogical skills. Applicants should include indications of future research plans relevant to the position in their application.

To contribute to an active research and teaching environment, our employees are expected to be present on campus to a large extent.

You will be active in the research community, participate in the division’s seminars and workshops, engage in research projects, communicate results through publications in leading academic journals, and help attract external research funding.

In research, collaboration involves disseminating, making accessible, and applying research findings.

Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate who has been appointed as a docent or has equivalent academic expertise and who has demonstrated pedagogical expertise or other professional skills relevant to the subject and duties relevant to the position.

Equal importance will be given to academic and pedagogical expertise. Other relevant proficiencies will also be considered.

In terms of scientific excellence, the following will be assessed:

  • A requirement for the position is documented scientific expertise in B2B marketing and/or related fields at a high international level (for example, through publication in internationally recognized scientific journals). Additionally, it is required to demonstrate how this scientific expertise is relevant to the areas of the advertised position.
  • A requirement is a research profile showing clear progress after completing the doctoral thesis, with scientific contributions corresponding to at least two doctoral theses, including the original thesis (equivalent to being appointed as docent in the Swedish academic system).
  • A requirement is documented research experience in quantitative research methods.
  • A particular merit is a documented ability to attract national and international research grants.
  • A merit is documented experience in qualitative research methods.
  • A merit is documented experience conducting research in various research environments and with industry collaboration.

In terms of pedagogical excellence, the following will be assessed:

  • A requirement is documented pedagogical excellence in teaching and supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in B2B marketing and/or related fields.
  • A requirement is the completion of higher education teaching courses (equivalent to 15 credits), including a course in supervising doctoral students, or having demonstrated equivalent competence.
  • A particular merit is documented pedagogical excellence in course responsibility and design, for example, as examiner, course director and/or main teacher.
  • A particular merit is documented ability to collaborate in education with society.
  • A merit is documented experience teaching in B2B marketing and marketing analytics.
  • A merit is documented experience as a principal supervisor and/or assistant supervisor for doctoral students.

Other proficiencies that will be assessed for this position:

  • A requirement is strong collaboration skills and the ability to contribute to the development of the work group, collegial working methods, and social cohesion.
  • A requirement is the ability to structure, plan, organise and prioritise work effectively.
  • A particular merit is leadership skills, including the ability to build research environments and create successful research groups.

An excellent command of both written and spoken English is required. Proficiency in Swedish is an advantage. If not already proficient, the successful candidate is expected to achieve working-level proficiency in Swedish within two years of starting the position.

This employment is permanent, full-time. Starting date by agreement.
