About the Course

Course Content

This education covers the legal framework applicable in the following areas:
• Protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data
• Cybercrime and cybersecurity
• Digital platforms and social media
• Artificial intelligence
• Intellectual property rights related to information technology

Throughout the course, both global, EU legal, and national regulations are discussed. Current rules are reviewed during the course. Additionally, we discuss the consequences that digitization and developments in information technology have on society from a legal and social perspective, and the future development of legal regulations in IT law.

Teaching Methods and Scope

The teaching consists of lectures and seminars that is entirely conducted online with remote teaching. In addition to this, you are required to engage in self-study. Participants study together with regular students at LiU. 

The education comprises 7.5 credits and has a study pace of 25%. The education is assessed through individual assignments and an examination.
