Research and Innovation Support Division (FINA)

The Research and Innovation Support Division (FINA) is responsible for operational support related to research funding, the coordination of research programmes, internationalisation, innovation advisory services, collaboration development, and commissioned education. The division is organised into five units: Grants office, Program office, International office, Strategic collaboration office and Commissioned education office.

The grants office works to support researchers at Linköping University in research funding processes. We act as a link between LiU, external funding organisations and research councils, with a focus on larger national funders and the EU’s Framework Programme for Research.

Program Office

The programme office offers coordination support for large research initiatives at Linköping University. Among these is Sweden's largest single research initiative, the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP), and TAILOR, a network of excellent research centres focussing on the scientific basis for reliable artificial intelligence.

International Office contributes to the implementation of LiU’s strategy for internationalisation. One way in which it does this is by facilitating and coordinating LiU’s participation in internationalisation programmes at national and international levels.

Commissioned Education Office

The Commissioned Education Office at LiU collaborates with and supports the departments and faculties in their work with commissioned education. Our role is to act as a link between the university and the public sector, companies and other organisations interested in increasing the expertise and knowledge of their employees or members. Commissioned education at LiU is based on scientific principles, and is to satisfy the need for knowledge of various sectors of society.
