Patrick Lambrix is a professor at the Department of Computer and Information Science at Linköping University, Sweden.

He received MSc degrees in Mathematics (1988) and in Computer Science (1990) from the KU Leuven, Belgium, and a PhD degree (1996) from Linköping University, Sweden.  In 2007 he was appointed full professor at Linköping University.

He is head of the Division for Database and Information Techniques where he leads the Database and Web Information Systems group. He is also member of the Semantic Web research group and founded the Sports Analytics research group at IDA.

His main expertise is in knowledge engineering and his research interests relate to the areas of semantic web (ontologies), databases, knowledge engineering for materials science, knowledge engineering for the life sciences, and sports analytics. In the fields of knowledge representation and ontology engineering he has pioneered work on part-whole reasoning in description logics, ontology alignment, and ontology debugging and completion, where his group developed award-winning systems.
