What happens now? Well, let the fun and learning begin!
Welcome to Linköping University
It is strongly recommended you arrive on one of the Arrival Days, but the office is also open every weekday. At the Arrival Days, you will receive free transport from the university to your accommodation. Your first stop in Linköping should be IO (International Office) in Zenit building on Campus Valla. In Norrköping the first stop should be at IO in Kåkenhus, room 2342, Campus Norrköping or the Student Services Desk. You will get a welcome package and other information.
If you received accommodation via LiU, you will also pick up the keys for your room at IO.
Arrival Days for the autumn term 2017 are 2, 15, 16, 22, 23 August. On those dates the International Office will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Information Days for master’s students
Information Days for new master’s students are held at the beginning of every academic year. They are intended to welcome you to Linköping University and provide you with practical information about studies and facilities.
You only need to attend the Information Days for your faculty. Each faculty has their own page with detailed information about information days, welcome fairs and roll call for your programme. You can find out which faculty your programme belongs to and access the right page via https://liu.se/en/article/information-days.
When you start a new master’s prgramme at Linköping University you must also attend a compulsory roll call. Dates for these are available on the faculty pages. If you are unable to attend you must inform us in advance - otherwise you will lose your place on the programme.
Orientation Days for exchange students
At the Orientation Days, LiU will welcome you officially. You will get information about important things that you need to know when studying at LiU. You will meet the Exchange student coordinators from IO and your Faculty coordinators, who are in charge of your studies. Afterwards, we invite you to mingle at the welcome fair.
Orientation Days for the autumn term 2017 will be announced later.
All new international students will get to know parts of Linköping University, such as the library, Student Health Services and Career Services. You will also get to meet some of the student associations, student unions and the faculties.
You can ask questions to the local Police and find out what there is to do in Linköping and surrounding areas from Visit Linköping. Studentbostäder will also be present and inform about what services they offer students. There will be time to mingle and have "fika" - coffee/tea and cake - and take part in our quiz.
The Welcome Fair is held on 18 and 25 August.
A warm welcome to you and if you have questions, you can reach us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
