Are you about to start your studies at LiU and have a reading impairment? In that case you have a right to access talking books. The Library can help you create an account for the talking books service Legimus.

Talking books service for LiU students

When the Library has created a Legimus account for you, you can download the talking books that you need for your studies. In accordance with your own needs, you can access books in the talking book, e-text or braille formats.

The Library can make requests for production of compulsory course literature, if the relevant titles are not already available as talking books or in another format that you need.
Production can only be requested on behalf of students who are enrolled at single-subject courses or education programmes at Linköping University, and have a Legimus account connected to the Library. It takes two months to produce a talking book.

To get an account for Legimus, you can make an appointment with a special needs librarian via a designated form on the page Special needs at Liunet Student, the intranet for LiU students. You can book an appointment at Campus Valla, University Hospital Campus or Campus Norrköping.

Other special needs support

As a student at LiU, you will also have access to spell checking and speech synthesis software. At the libraries, there are study rooms dedicated to special needs with these software installed.

If you have any questions about our special needs support, you are welcome to contact us via email.
