Roll call and programme start

A roll-call will take place on 19 August 13.15-15.00 on Campus Valla, Tema Building, room Temcas. Participation in the roll call is mandatory. You must attend in person - on campus - to confirm your place on the programme. If failing to attend, you will lose your place. Find out more about mandatory roll calls here.

The roll call will be followed by a brief information session where you'll have the opportunity to meet the program's management staff, gain an overview of the program structure, and ask any questions you may have. Additionally, you're invited to join a campus walk to explore LiU's facilities.

Conditionally admitted students

If you are conditionally admitted you must upload your degree certificate and transcript of your last semester(s) both in original language and with an English translation to your Universityadmissions account as soon as possible.

Preparing for your first semester

Course Start: The first course, "Critical Perspectives on Sustainable Development," begins on August 23. This course delves into the concept of sustainable development from various angles and involves contributions from teachers across different disciplines. In June, we'll send you more detailed information about this course, including a list of literature.

The first semester concludes with the course "Environmental Politics and Governance", which runs from December to January with holiday break between December 21 and January 6. After the break, course activities will resume and continue until the end of the third week of January.

Academic rigor and enjoyment

Master's Level Studies: Our program is designed to push boundaries, ignite curiosity, and challenge your intellect through thought-provoking discussions, collaborative projects, and innovative research. Please be aware that studies at the master's level are demanding. We take education seriously, and our goal is to make your time with us as fruitful as possible.

Balancing Act: However, this commitment doesn't prevent you from enjoying your stay in Sweden and experiencing the exciting student life in Linköping.

Engaged Faculty: Our dedicated teachers collaborate closely with students to continuously enhance the quality of education.

Stay Connected: Follow our activities and news via our website (Tema M) or our Twitter account @LiU_EnvChange.

Residing in Sweden

Students who are not citizens from Sweden or the EU/EEA are required to pay their tuition fees by 15 May 2024 to commence studies at LiU. This is also the recommended deadline for applying for a resident permit from the Swedish Migration Agency (Migrationsverket). Until you are sure you can reside and study in Sweden, we advise students not to book any non-refundable travel.

Questions?

LiU will be sending out an email series to all students admitted to an international programme at LiU in the lead up to the autumn semester with details about accommodation, tuition fees, scholarships, residence permits and other important steps to consider if you are an international student. The Admitted students page is also a hub of information. Swedish students may find Antagen more relevant.

If you want to decline your offer

While we really want all of our admitted students to choose Linköping University, it can happen that you decide to pursue your education elsewhere. If this is the case it is very important that you let us know you won’t be attending the programme as soon as possible, by declining your offer at universityadmissions.se. You do this by logging into your account and following the instructions under the 'Applications' tab. This might free up your place to someone on the waiting list.

As you step into our intellectually stimulating environment, we extend our warmest greetings once again. You will receive more information at a later stage, but do not hesitate to contact the programme director Henrique Sawakuchi or the study advisor Mathias Sköld with any questions you may have about the contents of the programme. For information on practical matters, please contact LiU's International Office.

Get ready to explore, learn, and contribute to a more sustainable future!
