Mikael Olofsson

Associate Professor

As a teacher and director of studies, I always strive to give my students the best possibilities I can. The most awarding part of my work are discussions with interested students.

Telecommunications, electronics and mathematics

During my PhD studies, I studied algorithms and architectures for arithmetic operations in finite fields, in terms of various practically relevant cost measures.

That is an area that touches upon telecommunication, electronics and mathematics.

These are areas that I find especially interesting. It resulted in the thesis ”VLSI Aspects on Inversion in Finite Fields” in February 2002.

Since then, I have mainly been teaching Telecommunication and Electronics. Since 2018, I am also director of studies for the courses given by the division Integrated Circuits and Systems. If I ever find time for research, it is usually dealing with algorithms and architectures for some kind of arithmetics.
