Procurement of digital systems in the public sector – user involvement and strategies
I am a doctoral student in information systems at Linköping University and conduct research on the procurement of digital information systems in the public sector, with a focus on user involvement in needs analysis. With over 30 years of experience in the IT industry, I analyze how technology, organization, and people interact in the procurement process.
My research interest is the procurement of digital information systems in public sector activities, with a focus on how users and stakeholders are involved in the needs analysis and the challenges and opportunities that exist in this process. My research is based on a socio-technical perspective and also draws on political science perspectives to analyze the interaction between technology, organization, and people in the procurement process.
I have a master's degree in informatics and a bachelor's degree in computer science from Mid Sweden University. Previously, I worked as a lecturer and amanuensis at the university, which has strengthened my understanding of research methodology and academic writing.
With over 30 years of experience in the IT industry, including at Stockholm County Council and in the private sector, I have worked with strategic planning, procurement, and implementation of digital systems. This experience has given me a deep understanding of the relationship between technology, organization, and user needs, which forms an important basis for my research.
I use qualitative methods to investigate how actors in the public sector define and manage needs prior to the procurement of digital systems.
