I am an industrial doctoral student at Saab Aeronautics, where I work as Principal Engineer in Operational Analysis at the Advanced Programs business unit.
I am also an affiliated doctoral student at the Swedish National Defense University, Department of Systems Science for Defense and Security.
My research
My research aims to create improved working methods and tools for design space exploration in the early concept phases of complex products, more specifically fighter aircraft. The starting point is that fighter aircraft exist as part of a system-of-systems in order to create the military capability that the user demands. This system-of-systems is seen as socio-technical, where components such as personnel, organization, and method (tactics) are also taken into account and designed together with technical components. The research has been funded by Vinnova's NFFP7, the EU project COLOSSUS, and Saab.
- My first research article is a case study that examined the Air Force 2000 (FV2000) project with the aim of understanding what lessons we can learn from how they developed a system-of-systems.
- My second research article describes a scenario framework that aims to describe and model the problem to be solved. Understanding and expressing the problem is a prerequisite for successful design space exploration, which future research aims to study. (The articles are already automatically linked on my LiU page.)
