Hello Fredrik Heintz, professor of computer science at Linköping University and Sweden-Brazil professor of AI and autonomous systems! You’re going to Brazil. Why?

“To discuss the creation of a new bilateral working group between Sweden and Brazil on AI, which I’ll be chairing with Professor Carlos Ribeiro, and to deepen links with Brazilian researchers. The collaboration will take place in connection with my Sweden-Brazil professorship in AI and autonomy. I’m going to visit three universities, Universidade Federal Fluminense in Rio de Janeiro, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul in Porto Alegre and Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica outside Sao Paolo, and Ericsson Research in Indaiatuba.”

LiU has identified Brazil as a "priority region". But what exactly does that mean?

“That we want to build lasting partnerships with Brazil. We regularly carry out activities at LiU with a connection to Brazil and participate in various activities in Brazil.”

What tangible results will we see in the near future of this collaboration between LiU and Brazil?

“There are already several Brazilian students and researchers at LiU who enrich our operations. In September, the Swedish ambassador to Brazil will visit LiU and in November we will be hosting a Brazilian delegation. Hopefully this will lead to even more research projects and exchanges.”
