Now Recruiting for Research Project: Social Connection in Young Adults!
The Embodied Brain Lab, a research group studying social connections, is launching a new study that focuses on the social connections of young adults. This study will shed light on how these relationships evolve during the transition to new environments and the potential effects of these changes on human physiology and health.
The study is now recruiting participants from new university students. You can participate, if you are an incoming student at Linköping university and you did your secondary education (gymnasium) in Sweden.
If you choose to participate, you will be asked to fill in self-assessments and visit a research lab during your first six months of your first year of studies. The four laboratory visits will take place on Campus Valla or Campus US in Linköping and they will take approximately 20 minutes each. During the lab visits, your heart rate will be measured using small electrodes on your skin while you relax.
Your participation will be compensated in the form of taxable payments: 100 SEK for the first assessment, 150 SEK for the second assessment, 200 SEK for the third assessment, and 300 SEK for the fourth assessment.
This study has been approved by the Swedish Ethical Review Authority (Etikprövingsmyndigheten), and Linköping University is overseeing the study (forskningshuvudman).
