Carl-Fredrik Mandenius är professor emeritus i teknisk biologi vid Linköpings universitet. Han är M. Eng. och D. Eng. i tillämpad biokemi och bioteknik från Lunds universitet. Han var chef för avdelningen för teknisk biologi mellan 1999 och 2022. Hans forskning är inriktad mot bioteknisk design inom utbildning, forskning och industriell utveckling. Specifika intressen är bioprocessövervakning, stamcellsteknologi och matematisk modellering av biologiska system inom bioteknik och medicin. Mandenius är också mycket engagerad i redaktörskap inom området bioteknisk vetenskap.
