Migration, Health and Biopolitics, 7.5 hp
HT 2021, Helfart, Norrköping
In this advanced course students examine health related issues using intersectional theories of migration, ethnicity and racism. Students will learn about encounters between sociocultural and (bio)medical perspectives on health, and explore themes such as the history of racial biology, postmodern genomics, colonial psychiatry, population regulation, and migration and trauma. Through this course, students will be able to critcally evaluate global and national health policy, and problematize the connections between different health care systems and migration regimes.
