My dissertation conserns the usage of maps and globes in todays swedish geography classroom. I have an interest in the presence of physical atrifacts like maps and globes in the classrooms as well as how teachers reflect upon their usage of maps, globes and geographical information systems (GIS) in geography education. Through the use of classroom observations and interviews with lower secondary geography techers I am creating deeper understanding of teachers' practises with maps in todays geography classrooms.
