Emily Rodriguez came to Linköping from the US in 2011. She earned a master’s in environmental science and left to work in Rome, New York and Brussels before returning to LiU. She’s back here now, working on her doctoral thesis.

Saving forests with AI

Attacks by beetles destroy huge areas of forest every year, costing several billion Swedish crowns. LiU alumnus Markus Drugge wants to do something about this. His company, Arboair, uses AI-driven image analysis to improve sustainability in forestry.
