The Interaction Hub, which organises the Conversation and Interaction Seminars (SIS), focuses on analyses of naturally occurring social interaction in everyday life and within institutional contexts, demonstrating how talk, gesture, and physical objects are coordinated to accomplish various social activities. The faculty-wide collaboration drives interdisciplinary development, combining linguistic, pedagogical, technical, medical, and psychological expertise through an established framework for collaborative analyses. As a leading centre of interactional research, the Interaction Hub produces world-renowned research, stimulates international recruitment, and creates practical applications within and outside academia.
We are proud to push forward the boundaries of research in the field of interaction and to offer unique insights into how human action is permeated by our social nature. With this as a common foundation, we address theoretical and methodological challenges across various academic fields. Through innumerable research projects over the years, we have met practical challenges throughout society: informing professionals, developing human-friendly technology and offering interventions that promote equality and sustainability across different professional domains.
