Political polarisation blocks more sustainable transport

Trains and planes have become part of our polarised social climate and one is often set against the other. This political gridlock hinders progress towards a more sustainable transport system. This is the conclusion of a doctoral thesis at LiU.

Digital services can increase exclusion

When public agencies introduce digital services, one goal is to improve accessibility for citizens. But for residents in disadvantaged neighbourhoods, this may create new barriers to integration. This is shown in a doctoral thesis from LiU.

Education

Courses in political science are provided as single subject courses as well as through our programmes: the Bachelor’s programme in Political Science and Economics, the Master’s programme in Political Sciences and the Master’s programme in International and European Relations. We also provide courses on European Integration.

The Swedish Higher Education Authority has recognised that our courses are of a high level of quality.

Research in Political Science

Political science research explores how power, governance, and political processes shape societies, institutions, and public policy at local, national, and global levels.

Research in political science examines how politics is shaped, implemented, and influences societies at the local, national, and global levels. With a focus on power, governance, democracy, and institutions, we study political processes in a period of profound societal change. Our research areas range from international politics and EU studies to democracy, public administration, and digitalisation, contributing knowledge that is relevant to academia, policymakers, and society at large.
